Finding Purpose in Service

In over 15 years in aviation, I’ve learned that passion fuels the journey, but purpose gives it true direction. I began my career in the U.S. Air Force, immersed in the high-stakes world of aircraft maintenance. Each day required intense precision, as I worked to ensure planes operated flawlessly. The demands were unrelenting, but the rewards were undeniable. My sense of purpose quickly took root, guiding me through complex operations and leadership challenges. This purpose became my compass, helping me make decisions and stay focused despite obstacles. Every task I undertook was part of a mission larger than myself, and knowing this drove me to excel. These experiences laid a strong foundation for my career, instilling resilience and a commitment to serve others through safe, reliable aviation.

A Shift to Private Sector Consulting

When I transitioned to the private sector, my career took on new dimensions. As an independent consultant, I advised high-ranking officials, CEOs, and VVIP clients on specialized aviation needs. This role opened doors to global opportunities, where I collaborated with teams across North and South America, consulted for projects in Europe, and handled unique demands in East Asia and the Middle East. Each project brought distinct complexities, but I found excitement in navigating these challenges. With every client, I saw aviation’s power to bridge cultures and connect people worldwide. This realization deepened my drive to make a meaningful impact. I knew that to serve others meaningfully, my work had to go beyond technical advice. This belief led me to join Valeria and Diana in founding Lie Alonso, an endeavour rooted in our shared vision of creating something soulful and lasting.

The Alignment of Passion and Purpose

Through these varied experiences, I’ve come to believe that when passion and purpose align, work becomes deeply meaningful. Designing jets and solving engineering challenges bring joy, yet my true fulfillment lies in knowing my work has a lasting impact. I don’t find satisfaction in technical achievements alone; instead, I’m motivated by the larger purpose my work serves. Seeing clients and communities benefit from our efforts brings profound satisfaction. This alignment of passion and purpose has transformed my career into something more than a job. It’s become a calling—one I’m eager to continue nurturing, shaping, and sharing. Working with a sense of purpose not only enhances my own life but also creates ripples that touch others, inspiring connections and shared achievements across our industry.

What Legacy Can We Leave Beyond Time?

I recognize that everything we build will one day fade. Creation and dissolution are natural cycles that everything in life follows. However, this knowledge only strengthens my focus on what matters now: the exquisite designs we create for clients, the joy that fills our work, and the connections we foster. Beyond any physical outcome, I believe our shared experiences are what endure, shaping the stories and memories passed on to future generations. Experiences create bonds that last long after the work itself, and that, ultimately, is our purpose and passion: to shape moments that resonate, craft beauty that’s shared, and leave an imprint that outlasts our time. These connections inspire future generations, making our work more than a career—it’s a dynasty.
